In episode #49 of the 1 Meal – 1 Workout podcast, we talked about geocaching with Kim Scornavacco. During the show I discovered that there was a geocache located 300 yards from my old house, which is only 3 miles from my current house.
I said in the podcast that I was going to go immediately after the show and try to find it, and I did! Try being the operative word. It was my first hunt, and I was pretty clueless. I didn’t know what I was looking for, or where to really look.
The cache was hidden in or near an old cemetary. After reading the hint that was supplied (magnetic), I went back for a third look. Success! It was super-cleverly camouflaged as an access panel. In reality, it was an outlet cover, painted black to match the fence, attached with magnets. This is what is called a microcache, which is the smallest classification, and typically only contains a log.
Here’s picks to give you an idea of how well it was hidden!
